25th Anniversary
In view of our 25th year anniversary, which by so many world standards, is not an easy feat to accomplish by any organisation, here is a retrospective and appreciative dive through all the years.
Cyberspace was established exactly today, 25 years ago when the visionary, Mr Jim Ovia, conceptualised the idea of an ICT company serving the needs of small, medium and enterprise organisations through network creation, software development and everything in-between. With a staff body of just three individuals at the beginning, we picked up the dream and turned it into the giant enterprise we have today.
In 2003, we reinvented the business to play actively as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to compete with bigger industry shakers- and 17 years later, we proudly still serve the largest banks in Africa, such as Zenith Bank, First Bank, Ecobank, Union Bank, FCMB, Wema Bank, LAPO MFB, Nigerian Ports Authority, Central Bank of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State and the thousands of other business strata and retail clients as well, with a staggering number of nodes spread across the federation.
In 2008, we wanted to be ‘Beyond The Ordinary’ ISP company and like a butterfly, metamorphosed from network solutions, into – the preferred solutions’ partner of choice- combining both facets of the business, superseding everyone’s expectations through inventing spectacular creations such as being the first company to build and launch the Computer Based Testing system used by JAMB during its first 3 years of matriculation examinations. We stormed the Software/Application world like a Colossus and since the industry has not remained the same.
The years after that were a success story to another, challenging and innovating one ground-shaking innovation to another, helping and supporting Government projects, Enterprise solutions and superseding every standard previously assumed to be unattainable. In the process, diversifying even more, we recognise It is as much to recognise the journey that you have been on as it is to give the opportunity to set new goals for the future hence the launch of Cybercloud Platform Limited in 2018 and Cyberpay Limited in 2019.
Our evolution from a mere dial-up ISP to Software innovators to Cloud pioneers with Artificial Intelligence and Big Data attracting numerous awards, International Certifications such as the ISO 9001:2015, CMMI and other outstanding partnerships with international players in various industries, we dare say, our solutions are only at the beginning of its triumph, with many more milestones yet to attain.
Through it all, we have been immeasurably lucky to be blessed with talented, Intelligent and hardworking people of integrity who share our vision and help make it a reality- our dear Cyberspace family- this success is yours to celebrate. To those we lost along the journey and are unfortunately not here to celebrate today- we honor your memories and thank you for sharing your lives with us as well.
To our partners, clients and well-wishers over 25 years- you have all contributed to building us through continued patronage, trust and service, and so on behalf of the management and staff of this great organisation, we thank you for your support and vote of confidence in us.
